Packaging research

Alterations to an existing package, a completely new package design, or a completely new form of packaging are possible examples of a packaging survey.

Our packaging survey provides answers to the following important questions:

1. What is the potential of your new packaging?

2. What is the attractiveness and 'impact' of your packaging (including its design)?

3. What are the strengths?

4. In what areas is there room for improvement?

5. How is convenience of use rated? This could include, for example opening and closing, grip, keeping the product fresh, convenience of storage in the fridge, etc.

6. What price can you ask for the package?

The results allow you to improve your package, if necessary, thus increasing your chances of

a successful product. It is also possible, if applicable, to include the old package in the

survey, so that a very clear picture is obtained of the differences between old and new.

An online packaging survey usually starts with the design of a package. If it is important that a respondent evaluates the physical package, then on-location survey is the best option. The advantage of this approach is that people can take hold of the package, use it (for example to pour out a glass), and get an accurate impression of the size of a pack (with online research the latter is more difficult). Finally there is also the possibility of using an in-home (IvoMar Script ®) packaging survey. Here, the package is used in a home situation for several days to obtain a practice-based assessment.
