What is in-home research?
In-home research using the IvoMar Script method (Script: Written in-home product test) is extremely affordable research at the consumer's home. Because only in the home environment can the most objective product evaluation be measured, including the practical influence of other members of the household.
How does an in-home survey work?
We select our respondents in a large number of shopping centres in the Netherlands. There, if they meet the selection criteria, they receive a product to try at home. The product may be a food item or care product, but naturally could also be a magazine or a television programme (on video). Respondents try the product at home and complete the questionnaire. They will send this back to us after a few days in the enclosed postage-paid return envelope. Ten days after delivery of the products you receive our report. The results of in-home surveys will always be included in the IvoMar Normbase ®.
What are the main benefits of in-home research?
1. Products are tested at a normal, natural occasion, similar to when they would normally be consumed.
2. Interviewers exert no influence.
3. There is no time pressure for the respondent.
4. In-home research provides carefully-considered and honest answers.
5. The data reflects the typical household opinion.
6. 'Fresh' respondents are selected for each new survey.
7. In-home research has a very low "non-response 'rate.
What can I use in-home research for?
For example, in-home research can be used for:
1. Evaluation of concept/packaging/naming;
2. Acceptance of the physical product;
3. Potential/pricing/intention to purchase;
4. Preference measurement.
Who can take part in in-home research?
Any target group in the Netherlands and/or Belgium can be selected for a survey. Besides the respondents selected for the survey, their partner and/or children, if any, may take part in the survey using separate questionnaires.
